>PAINTING FOREVER!<
YOUNG ARTISTS FROM THE ESSL COLLECTION
20 April 2011 – 02 September 2012
SCHÖMER-HAUS
Curators: Prof. Agnes Essl, Günther Oberhollenzer
At the Schömer-Haus, the art collector Agnes Essl presents her personal selection from the Essl Collection. Co-curated by Günther Oberhollenzer, this show focuses on young representatives of figurative painting. The exhibition features works by Austrian and international artists, including well-known names and artists still awaiting discovery.
At the exhibition hall of the company’s head office, the art collector Agnes Essl will present her personal selection from the Collection. The oval hall of the Schömer-Haus building is a unique art space. The artwork can be viewed from the central staircase which offers different viewpoints at the four levels, thus creating ever-new relationships and juxtapositions not only within a level but also vertically between levels. Until the opening of the
Essl Museum in 1999, the Schömer-Haus served as the only exhibition space for The Essl Collection. Since that time, Agnes Essl has been putting together an annual exhibition to offer insights into the Collection and present focal areas.
