Art education options for school groups, nursery groups and children’s groups
Discovering art triggers a learning process that broadens the horizon, creating
a space of freedom where the exclusive “either-or” of reality is balanced
by an inclusive “as-well-as” approach. Pupils profit from the creative
potential tapped by art experiences that can set off a sustainable learning process.
The generous, light-flooded architecture of the museum building, the exciting
encounters with the artwork, the delightful challenge of testing one’s own
creativity - a visit to the Essl Museum is a pleasurable experience on all levels.
We also offer specific education options based on all current exhibitions.
WORKSHOP

Studio-based art talk with practical aesthetic exercises. The group size should
not exceed 15 children/pupils. Small groups ensure that experience derived from
art talks in front of original art work can be translated into individual creative
action. The media used in the studio are related to the respective exhibition
– ranging from painting to object-art, collages, conceptual approaches and
sculpture. The methodology is geared to the respective age groups. For several
years, the workshops have been the educational offer of The Essl Collection (Sammlung
Essl) most preferred by teachers and group leaders. The art education team also
recommends this method, since it ideally combines theory and practical art experiences.
